Mexico
“Thank you for arranging the trip which worked really well and it’s another one ticked off the bucket list. All the guides were really great, very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and proud of their heritage. With a trip like this it is always difficult to pick out the highlights - so many places and sights! Mexico City was vibrant and interesting but we weren’t sorry to leave the smog behind. Oaxaca and Campeche were our favourite cities - both colonial-style hotels and buildings make you feel you have arrived in the real Mexico. They were relaxed and friendly, good places to visit. If we have to choose a favourite archaeological site it would be the small Kabah site which we arrived at quite early in the morning. It was so quiet we had it almost to ourselves.It was quite right to include the day of relaxation at the Hacienda Santa Rosa. After lots of travelling and visits it was good to have a rest. Likewise, the final days on the beachside Ana y José in Tulum were just right.” - S&JH travelled in February 2025
Argentina
“We had an amazing holiday - our third trip to the country but this time it has really felt like we have been “in” Argentina. The journey from the Andes to the Atlantic was spectacular and jaw-dropping and Gwion was wonderful as a guide and friend. Sunset to ourselves with the colony of 600,000 Magellanic penguins at Estancia San Lorenzo was very special.” - I&LW travelled in January 2025
Mexico
“Thanks so much! I wanted to write and say thank you so much for all of your help and all of your planning! We had a great time. We LOVED our guide in Oaxaca - he is amazing and knows so much! Our full day with him and visiting Monte Alban and visiting the family for lunch (and to see their weaving/rugs), that was definitely a highlight. The girls loved helping to grind the corn to make tortillas and to tour and eat at their house. I think they will never forget that.” - MW travelled in June 2025
Brazil
“We had the time of our lives and I had no idea Brazil was so special! Iguaçu particularly blew us away and the Pantanal was fabulous too. We saw lots of jaguars, yes - on every drive in fact. We didn’t see an anteater or tapir but lots of other mammals and birds of course and it was the jaguar we wanted most. Rio was huge fun and the carnival seats were fantastic - right in the middle by the judges so we enjoyed all the special antics for them. We loved Brazil so much that we’re thinking of Montevideo and Argentina next year as our niece is going to study in Uruguay! We will no doubt be in touch. Falkland Islands
“The Falkland Islands were amazing, I enjoyed it a lot. Especially because it was end of the season and many of the places I visited I had to myself. There were islands where I spent the night 11km away from the next person, only with a radio to communicate in emergencies. It was a good itinerary for the week we initially planned – sad that some of the islands had to close due to the bird flu and hopefully it will be ok next season. I definitely recommend the Falklands as a destination, it was probably one of the highlights of my trip.” - IJ travelled in March 2024

“As usual I think our Colombia itinerary was spot on and the service and guides were the usual high standard, and met the excellent standard we have come to expect from Last Frontiers. We were spoilt by attentive, knowledgeable and personable staff who significantly contributed to the enjoyment of our holiday! Ecuador/Galapagos
“Our trip was amazing. We were so impressed with how organised everything was, it really was ridiculously easy for us. At every point there was someone waiting who knew exactly where we should be going, what we needed etc.
I know that most people go to the Amazon before Galapagos, which I understand, but for us I preferred the order in which we did it. I think I would have been wishing the time away waiting to head to Galapagos, and our kids thought that the wildlife experience was just as good. On that point, we were really lucky. We finished Galapagos snorkeling with hammerheads, Galapagos and white tip reef sharks. We also got to swim with penguins, sea lions, turtles and so many fish. We are generally spoiled at home in terms of snorkeling/diving but this was incredible. At Napo, in the Amazon, we got to see the giant river otters hunting, carrying their young and generally messing around which was incredible. So at the risk of waffling on, our wildlife encounters were incredible and not just for the twitchers in the family.
The respective accommodations were excellent. We were very lucky on our boat that we were with a lovely family. Given that it was so small, it would have been a very different experience if they weren't so lovely. The guides we had were all very knowledgeable and friendly.

Costa Rica
“Overall the itinerary was great and we felt the number of night stays in each location was about right. Our local representative was absolutely great, a very good communicator and was really ‘on it’ in terms of keeping us up to date on everything. The Costa Rican people are all delightful and generally extremely welcoming and the level of spoken English was exceptional. The internal flights were good and obviously got us around quickly but we really did enjoy having the freedom to explore in our rental car. A great holiday, thank you very much for all your help and advice, and we feel that overall we did get to really explore the country which is, of course, helped by having a car to go off and do your own thing. Driving in Costa Rica was easy once you’d become accustomed to the local traits.” - SJ travelled in February 2024
Argentina/Antarctica
“We're home and had a brilliant trip. We loved Buenos Aires, the cruise to Antarctica with Aurora Expeditions was fantastic and a couple of nights on an estancia in the Pampas was the perfect way to end before flying home. We were very lucky with the weather and over the moon with all elements of the cruise. There were 120 passengers on board the ship which was a very good number, and it was a nice mix of nationalities. The ship, Greg Mortimer, was very comfortable, the food was very good, and the expedition team and all the staff on board were excellent. The kayaking was great and camping on shore for a night was a unique experience. We have 1000's of photos and lots of wonderful memories. Colombia
“At the outset we wanted a trip which would include the best of Colombia and also to see some of the famous birdlife. Overall the trip was excellent and the guides and your local agents were very good. Our one day in Bogotá was perfect, Hacienda Venecia in the coffee region was an excellent choice and the highlight of the birding side of the trip was Rio Blanco Cloud Forest and the wonderful hummingbirds. Jardin was a smashing little town and the visit to see the Cock of the Rock was something else - we saw around 20! We very much enjoyed Medellin but were disappointed by Tayrona. Cartegena was very hot but I think we covered every single street in the old town, ate in some excellent restaurants and enjoyed the plunge pool at our hotel, Alfiz.” - PC travelled in November 2023
